Sister Dottie Platts has been a devoted and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star since July 15, 1970. With over 54 years of dedicated service, she has become a guiding presence within the organization. A proud Grand Pearl and Life Member of Prince Hall Chapter No. 258, she served with distinction as Worthy Matron in 1980 and 1981. She continues to serve faithfully as a Chapter Trustee, ensuring the values and traditions of the Order are upheld.
In 1989, Sister Platts was appointed District Worthy Matron of the Savannah First Masonic District, where she led with grace, dignity, and compassion. From 2017 to 2019, she served as President of the Past Matron Council, offering support and mentorship to fellow Past Matrons and leaders throughout the District.

Community & Church Involvement
Sister Platts is a lifelong and faithful member of Temple of Glory Community Church, where she has worshiped for 63 years. As an Elder, she continues to serve on various church boards and contributes to the spiritual growth of her congregation. Her unwavering faith and willingness to serve have made her a beloved figure in her church community.
She is also a member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association, a testament to her passion for education and her continued commitment to civic and community engagement.
Personal Background
A proud mother of four children, two daughters and two sons, Sister Platts is also a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her role as a matriarch is marked by compassion, strength, and unwavering support for her family.
